How this started

For benefit of my kids I developed or rather mingled games and exercises with information and academic fundamentals to play with them & their friends where they will have fun and apply their knowledge. I made riddles and we played various games on paper & outside the house.

With such games they fortified their learning of various things mentioned in school and could see how the school academics related to things around them in a different perspective.

Then encouraged by my friends I worked towards conducting sessions for children. For each session I prepared various types of exercises and always including some language and math skills for sure. And to give it a name "Out of the Box " as it was not traditional training and "Edutainment" as that's what appealed as appropriate.

There is a saying don't let your child's schooling interfere with his education. Schooling is a part of their overall education. As parents we need to supplement it with moral & spiritual knowledge as well as help them reconfirm & apply what concepts and fundamentals they learn at school.

Education is holistic when it covers - facts, fundamentals, application and a preparation for the real world. Children need guidance sometimes & competition at another or some just require practice and others need is just motivation. Parents are by default the people who identifies what is needed and tries to fulfil that need. While doing this I developed this program.

What is Edutainment

It is doing games & tasks that require application of knowledge as well as learning

Its all done in a very fun way , and without realizing kids learn a lot at the subconscious

Its having fun while learning

For some its camouflaged teaching - like veggies in pasta sauce

For some its just brain exercises - like water play provides physical exercises

Just as playing monopoly teaches a lot of money matters just as scrabbles teaches spellings and improves vocabulary. There are many innovative games and exercises that entertain kids while applying, practicing & developing their skills

Its entertaining and educative at the same time ...so that's "edutainment"
